by I'm a very dissatisfied customer. I have been patient with Telkom but still no positive results. No phone or Internet since early October. Not impressed at all.

by I' have applied in early October for my Business landlines to be installed at my new adress. It is now 30 December I still do not have a phone line or Internet at my new premises. I'm most distressed and upset every time I leave the Telkom store in Bluff Durban to hear that we are working on it. There is a cable fault that is all I'm told. I'm really tempted to cancelled my account with Telkom of which I'm a paying client from 1988 or 1988. I'm really not impressed with Telkom at all.

by Nolo from the Telkom Fourways Crossing made me realize the value of excellent customer service. I initially applied for 10gig data contract and ended up signing up for a 20gig. She listened to my requirements and made me do the cost benefit analysis of the 10vs20gigs monthly contract. She sent me daily feedback emails until the day I had to pick up the device.

by Internet service provider (Afrihost) claim the continuous network congestion resulting in slow-to-no internet is because the Telkom exchange needs to be upgraded. They further claim that they cannot do anythng about it and that only if sufficient complaints from customers in the area are received from Telkom will they actually look into upgrading the exchange! How can internet service providers knowingly take subscribers money when they are fully aware that the exchange cannot handle the load yet they are powerless to put any pressure on Telkom for the necessary upgrade to be done? Why should the onus be on the paying customer to convince Telkom to upgrade the exchange. Haven't we paid enough for piss-poor service already? How about Telkom and the internet service providers actually come to the party and give the paying customer whatthey have paid for - how hard can that be?

by I have received absolutely no service from Telkom in response to a fault logged with them more than a week ago. Our modem has been down all that time. Technicians have been to my house, unplugged all the cables & then left, saying it's an "exchange" problem & they'll be back when the line has been fixed. They have simply not returned! Their call centre is equally useless in that they make promises that are not kept. Their so-called Supervisors are no better & you cannot speak to a more senior person -- they keep making the excuse that he's busy on a call or in a meeting or he's out. Despite promises, the supervisor never calls you back, so you're back at square one. If I pay my account late, they charge interest, but they take no responsibility for the extra costs I have to incur to keep my little business going. It certainly is a one-way street with them!!

I was pleasantly surprised with the good service received by Telkom .

After moving from residence I logged a ticket online via the Telkom website to change my line to new address. The first surprise was when I received an sms one day later confirming my ticket and acknowledging that a technician will visit my new address on requested .

Second surprise was to find the technician pitching up 09:00 the morning, ready to install the new line. With a neat vehicle and adequate tool to do all that was necessary even removing two branches of a tree in the way, my new line was installed in less than 2 hours and in one visit.

I do need to specifically compliment Charles on his professional service .His vehicle was neat, tools neatly packed and he new the do's and dont's to comply with Telkoms procedures and policies.

I've recently applied for an ADSL line at home and was pleasantly surprised by the service I received from Telkom. Not only were they professional, they managed to provide me with a better option as to what I originally had in mind. I received a SMS almost immediately informing me of the progress of my application.
