I, the undersigned, requested assistance on Friday, the 28th of July, 2017 at approximately 1pm from the pharmacist at Broadacres Clicks for a cough. The pharmacist dispensed Duro-Tuss Linctus without explaining the risks of Salbutamol sulphate.
I took one tablespoon of the Duro-Tuss Linctus after leaving Clicks. I started trembling. I assumed that the medicine contained caffeine or alcohol and since I had not eaten since the morning, that the cause of the trembling was as a result thereof.
When I arrived home, I had roasted potatoes from Woolworths. By then the trembling increased; I had severe heart palpitations and had great difficulty breathing as well as coughing spasms. I then started vomiting.
The vomiting mitigated to some extent the above-mentioned symptoms.
I wish to state that I am a public figure and an internationally and national acclaimed environmental activist and whistleblower. I am 64 years old.
I consider it my moral duty to disclose the above experience with the public and news media.
In conclusion, I wish to furthermore submit that the service at Clicks Pharmacy is slow and unfriendly. The tardiness in attending to clients who are in need of medicine is resulting in physical discomfort and inconvenience.
